The uber rare Elliott Revenuer has a preamp section similar to a Tweed Deluxe paired with a Marshall-esque power section. With plentiful headroom until the end of its range, it truly is a unique amp, well suited as a pedal platform. This capture set was designed in partnership with Isaac Cook, an Elliott Artist who gave specific direction to make a round of captures for each of his favorite Elliott guitars—the 357, Raven, and Tone Master. The Story

This amp is not my own. Even if I wanted to buy one, they’re rare as hens’ teeth and aren’t currently in production. Thankfully, through the wonderful connections made possible by social media, I recently became friends with Isaac Cook, a current Elliott artist. Isaac had been using some of my ToneX captures and enjoyed them enough to graciously loan me his Revenuer for the purpose of capturing. The goal was to create capture sets designed in partnership with Isaac that perfectly compliment his favorite Elliott guitars—his James Duke 357, Raven, and Tone Master. After almost a year in the making, Isaac and I are very proud of the captures we’ve created together and are excited to share them with you! But worry not, even if you don’t own an Elliott guitar, we’re sure there’s a capture in here that will fit whatever’s in your arsenal. Read up about each capture below.

MICS & PREAMP

The 357, RAVE, and TM were captured with a vintage Shure 545D paired with a Royer R-121 with mic placements and EQ treatment specific to each set. The “SC” capture was made with a 545D and a Beyerdynamic M160. API Preamps and mild API EQ was used to tune each capture.
